Beilun District has 380,000mu of forests, rich in vegetation resources and noteworthy in natural landscape. There's some 200km long of woodland walk to cater for sightseeing, ecological protection and fitness.

Currently, 15 woodland walks, including Badakeng-Xiaotianlong Woodland Walk, Jiufeng Mountain Woodland Walk, Ancient Xiaozi Ridge Path, Taibai Mountai Woodland Walk, Ancient Maoling Path, Xiala-Longtan Woodland Walk, Ritou Mountain Woodland Walk, Liwai Fengling, Dongpan Mountain Woodland Walk, Yunyu Mountain Woodland Walk Laoying Mountain Woodland Walk, Yishan, Xiaogang Village - Maoyang Temple Woodland Walk, Fenghuang Mountain Woodland Walk, and Guoju Zongtai Mountain Woodland Walk, together with Badakeng Woodland Walk, the greenest one in Beilun, and Niaokeng Woodland Walk in Shangchemen, Kunting, Chunxiao, form a cross woodland walk network extending for over one hundred kilometers.

Ruiyan Scenic Spot of Jiufeng Mountain

Ruiyan Scenic Area, the hometown of Jiufeng Acanthostega - the mascot for the home field of Chinese women's volleyball games, is famous for the primitive ecology and religious culture. With primitive forest covering an area of 9,000 mu (1 mu = 666.6666667 m2) and including natural ecological communities most typical in subtropical zones, it is hailed as the "Xishuangbanna in Eastern Zhejiang".

Rare treasures Jiufeng Acanthostega, called as "living fossils", live in the primitive forest with ancient trees towering to the key and clear streams, having a history of more than 15 million years. It is also known as "small dinosaurs" as it looks exactly like protosuchia dinosaurs. You can visit the "small dinosaur" paleoecological ditch, return to nature, admire the ecological landscape of the primitive forest, explore the secret of preservation of Jiufeng Acanthostega and enjoy the magic of nature!
