Fengnan Community of Guoju Street has built an adequate community elderly care service system, relying on the “Happiness and Richness” intelligent elderly care service platform, residents have realized 24-hour remote call response, adding a reliable guarantee for the elderly’s later years.

Create a happy home for the elderly

Fengnan Community was established in October 2013. As a relocation-oriented elderly care community, the permanent population in the area is now more than 1,500, including 1,415 aged over 60 years old. Aging is the largest feature of this community.

At the beginning of the establishment of the community, Lin Haiyun, the Party secretary of Fengnan Community, led the group members to put forward the model of “Non-fenced Nursing Home”, taking serving the elderly as the top priority of community work, and continuously improving the efficiency of community elderly care service through the form of “Service Projectization”.

For more than 10 years, the community has been equipped with service facilities such as caring canteen, geriatric school, health cabin, etc. It has also created a home-based elderly care service center, set up health management area, living service area, culture and entertainment area, and set up multi-functional classrooms such as fitness and rehabilitation nursing room, “Renlu” talking room, “Shaving Your Worries” hairdressing room and “Making up” life studio. More than 20 teams, including “6080 Supporting Group” and “Beacon for Elderly Care” volunteer service team, have provided diversified services including rehabilitation care, cultural entertainment and daily care for the elderly nearby by means of “Knocking on the Door”.

Charity gathers strength and service warms hearts

Fengnan Community has become a desirable place for elderly care and living, which is inseparable from the support from all sectors of society.

6 enterprises in Guoju Street donated 970,000 yuan to build 3 facilities for elderly activities; Ningbo Huideli Property Service Co., Ltd. donated to build “A Pot of Water a Day”, a public boiling water room; In 2023, the “Beacon Caring Square” donated by the Beilun District Charity Federation was put into use... Twenty-six philanthropic projects firmly support this rural elderly care community.

At the same time, through “Charitable Co-construction”, the community continuously raises charity funds, promotes the power of charity, expands the effect of charity, and strengthen charity front, so that the charity cause has achieved leapfrog development.

Since August 2023, Beilun District has explored the new mode of “centralized” rural elderly care in Fengnan Community of Guoju Street, and successfully listed in the list of provincial standardization pilot projects of Zhejiang Administration for Market Regulation in 2024, becoming the first standardized pilot community for centralized elderly care in rural communities in the province.

Unblock “life distance” with 5G speed

“Is there any operator on duty? My husband fell down in the bathroom. Help!” One day at 2 o’clock, the master duty room of the community home-based elderly service center doorbell call system rang the emergency call from the resident. Duty officer Xiaoru arrived at the resident’s home within three minutes to provide help.

In 2022, Fengnan Community started the construction project of “Happiness and Richness” intelligent elderly care service platform.

The project involves installing voice intercom alarm systems and intelligent gas alarm systems in 808 elderly care homes within the jurisdiction. Residents can realize the remote call of “Elderly Calling System-24-Hour Main Control Center-Red Richness Housekeeper, Blue First-aid Housekeeper and Orange Service Housekeeper” by pressing a bell. The project also integrates virtual, community, home-based and institutional elderly care to form a comprehensive and intelligent working system for elderly care service.

Party Secretary of Fengnan Community Lin Haiyun said that in the future, the community will continue to gather charity power, continue to enrich the lives of the elderly in the community, enhance their sense of happiness, and build Fengnan Community into a harmonious and happy home which provides “Care for the Elderly, Support for the Elderly and Joy for the Elderly”.
