On the morning of March 8, the cultural co-construction activity with the theme of “Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance; Cultural Communication and Integration” was held in Beilun Library. Chaiqiao Experimental Primary School brought into the library the intangible cultural heritage skills such as Lujiang peasant painting, Shaxi pottery and Chuanshan Zaofu, attracting many students and citizens.

During the activity, the students of Chaiqiao Experimental Primary School, as the inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage, drew vivid figures with exquisite painting skills. The colorful paintings full of local flavor attracted many people to appreciate.

In the ultra-light clay crafting area, the students used their dexterous hands to bring to life the images in the intangible cultural heritage performances such as Chuanshan Zaofu.

“I've seen the Chuanshan Zaofu performance on the street before. It's very meaningful to make these images myself.” Pang Yihan (a child) showcased her works made of ultra-light clay.

Many parents also participated in the activities with their children. “It is of great help for her to study Lujiang peasant paintings, which can not only broadens her horizons, but also helps to pass down our intangible cultural heritage.” said parent Cheng Sai.

Wang Shanzhen, the headmaster of Chaiqiao Experimental Primary School, said: “We hope to promote the intangible cultural heritage project of Chaiqiao to society through the open platform of the library, allowing more local children and families in Beilun to have more opportunities to experience and appreciate intangible cultural heritage, thus enhancing their sense of identity and pride in traditional culture.”

It is reported that the theme exhibition of “Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance; Cultural Communication and Integration” will last until March 30. Interested citizens are encouraged to visit and take part in different activities during their spare time. (Reporters: Mao Chenyan, Fan Xiaolei; Correspondent: Lu Qingfeng)
