Recently, the intelligent charging dispatching system of electric equipment has been started by the No. 2 Container Terminal Co., Ltd. in Ningbo Zhoushan Port of Beilun, by which the problem of “difficult charging” of the electric collecting truck in the wharf can be relieved, so that the new energy can be added for promoting the energy transformation and upgradation of the wharf and building a green and boutique wharf.

At two o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, more than a dozen brand-new new energy collecting truck was lined up in a row at the No. 2 Container Terminal Co., Ltd. in Ningbo Zhoushan Port of Beilun. Nearby, the charging and changing reminder was received by a driver of new energy collecting truck, and the truck was drived to the charging site, and the collecting truck was replaced to operate continuously according to the reminder after the collecting truck having been charged.

“Last year, 28 electric collecting trucks were introduced by our company to replace the fuel transportation vehicles with new energy electric collecting trucks, and the energy conservation and emission reduction of the port could also be promoted.” Introduced by Sun Keqi, the responsible person of intelligent charging dispatching project of electric equipment of the No. 2 Container Terminal Co., Ltd. in Ningbo Zhoushan Port of Beilun, and the carbon emission can be reduced by 462 tons every year with the replacement of these 28 electric collecting trucks, which is equivalent to reducing the carbon emission of 171 cars with the displacement of 1.6 liters in one year.

It is reported that the Beilun No. 2 Container Terminal Co., Ltd. was founded in 2000, which is 24 years from now on, and the existing development needs are not able to be met by many equipment and automobiles. Therefore, the road of transformation to intelligent and green port has been opened by the wharf. The independent research and development and the introduction of new technologies and new equipment, and the application of the new energy collecting truck are only one of the epitome, and the trial operation has achieved remarkable results so far.

“Since the system working online, compared with the original manual operation, the overall efficiency of the wharf has been improved obviously." introduced by Sun Keqi not only the busy degree of production operation and the balanced charging of the collecting truck team and other factors have been considered comprehensively by the system, but also the use of the future electric quantity of the automobile can be predicted, combined with which the scientific scheduling and charging can be realized in the manner of  “production busy with few instructions and off-peak charging in idle time” to improve the utilization rate of the electric collecting truck further.

"At present, the manual operation of the bridge crane and gantry crane on our wharf has been replaced gradually by automation. The driver of bridge crane and gantry crane can operate remotely. Three traditional gantry cranes can be controlled by one person working in only one post at the same time, by which the working efficiency can be improved greatly, and 21 cranes have been reconstructed up to now.” said Zhang Lyuhua, a member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Beilun No. 2 Container Terminal Co., Ltd., in the future, the original traditional bulk cargo wharf can be upgraded and reconstructed by the company relying on artificial intelligence, Beidou system, automation, blockchain and other scientific and technological capabilities, by which the wharf will become a modern green port, and the core competitiveness of the old wharf can be improved continuously (Reporter Lu Yongxin Zheng Kanxuan, Correspondent Chen Jiabei)
