Xie Chenyi, an athlete from Beilun, was selected to join the Chinese national gymnastics training squad, marking his second inclusion in the national team.
Born in March 2004, Xie Chenyi has shown a keen interest and natural talent for gymnastics from a young age. At the age of 8, he took a crucial step towards his dream by moving from Beilun District Juvenile Sports School to the gymnastics team of Ningbo City Sports School. He represented the Ningbo team at the 15th Zhejiang Provincial Games in 2014, where he won gold in the Men's Group B events for rings and vault, as well as the parallel bars and horizontal bar.
In 2014, Xie Chenyi's gymnastics journey took another major step forward when he enrolled in Zhejiang College of Sports for further training. After several years of hard training, he was successfully selected into the National Gymnastics Youth Training Team at the end of 2018. In 2023, Xie Chenyi finally set foot on the journey of the national gymnastics team. Currently focusing on the horizontal and parallel bars.
In recent years, Xie Chenyi has continued to achieve remarkable results in major gymnastics competitions through his relentless effort and outstanding performances. His accomplishments include third place in the men's team event at the 2022 National Gymnastics Championships, the men's parallel bars title at the 2023 National Gymnastics Championships, and the men's team gold at the 2024 Asian Gymnastics Championships.
