Recently, the website of the Ministry of Commerce announced the results of the assessment and evaluation of the comprehensive development level of the national economic and technological development zones (hereinafter referred to as the National Development Zones) in 2023. The Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as Ningbo Development Zone) increased five places again, jumping to the 12th place among the 230 national economic development zones in China.

In 2022, after in-depth integration of the functions of "Development Zone + Free Trade Zone + Bonded Zone", the new Ningbo Development Zone was officially put into operation, integrating, linking and operating with Beilun District. With the great attention and support of the Beilun District Party Committee and the District Government, Ningbo Development Zone has firmly seized the opportunity of regional integration, gathered the advantages of many national-level open platforms and the development opportunities of the pilot free trade zone, actively promoted the transformation and upgrading of traditional international trade, and ushered in the successive implementation of a number of high-quality projects such as ZEEKR Intelligent Technology and QFLP projects.

Recently, the Ningbo Beilun District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Party Working Committee of Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone jointly issued a notice on the "Three-year Action Plan for Striving for Leading and Advanced Positions in Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone (2023-2025)". In the next step, Ningbo Development Zone will fully and thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the hard truth of "High-quality Development", focus spirit and strength on the steady progress of the economy and improving quality, unswervingly promote the policy of "Double Seeking and Double Introduction", and strive to do better in industrial development, scientific and technological innovation, urban construction, platform capacity improvement, service optimization and other "Combination punches", accelerate the construction of a domestic first-class and internationally renowned high-energy strategic platform, and contribute to the province's "Be courageous to be the pioneer of Chinese-style modernization and strive to write a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization".

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce has also announced the top 10 zones in terms of total import and export volume and the top 10 zones in terms of actual use of foreign investment in national development zones.
