Recently, the “West Lake Friendship Award” Granting Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People of Zhejiang Province, there are a total of 50 experts winning this honor in the whole province. The purpose of the establishment of the “West Lake Friendship Award” as the highest award by the Zhejiang Provincial Government is to recognize the outstanding contributions and dedication of foreign experts in the economic construction and social development of Zhejiang Province.

It is learned that Ningbo Orient Wires & Cables Co. Ltd. introduced foreign experts to engage in ultra-high-voltage submarine cable research and development, manufacturing and technical management for a long term. In addition to helping the company seize the 525 kV flexible DC submarine cable technology heights, he also cultivated an innovation team with international vision for the enterprise, to promote the transformation of "external wisdom" to the "internal wisdom"

While the foreign experts introduced by Ningbo S J Electronics Co., Ltd. are dedicated to the field of integrated circuit semiconductor packaging equipment, helping enterprises complete a commercial closed-loop from equipment research and development, continuous iteration, commercial introduction, and batch sales in a short period of time to realize a leapfrog development.

As the birthplace of “Overseas Engineer” and the only “National Model District for the Introduction of Foreign Intelligence” in China, Beilun has been in the forefront of overseas intelligence introduction work in the province over the years.

In 2012, Beilun District issued “1+9” policy system such as the Implementation Opinions of Beilun Encouraging Enterprises to Introduce Overseas Engineers, etc, formulating support policies such as project subsidies, annual salary subsidies, school admission and medical treatment, and housing security for foreign experts in a targeted way. At present, the policy has been iterated and upgraded to version 3.0 to adapt to the new situation of overseas talent attraction demand, increasing the support in project cultivation, platform construction, excellent results reward, etc., and providing a strong policy guarantee for the introduction and cultivation of overseas intelligence. Up to now, the whole region has introduced and used more than 9,800 overseas engineers from 54 countries, of which 117 have won the national “Friendship Award”, “West Lake Friendship Award” and other honorary titles.

In the future, Beilun will continuously polish the golden signboard of "National Demonstration Zone for Introducing Foreign Intelligence" by optimizing the top-level design, creating a talent ecosystem, enhancing multi-dimensional services and so on, trying its best to build a provincial-level “foreign high-end talent innovation cluster area”.
