Recently, Beilun Public Security Bureau successfully cracked a transnational fake cigarette case based on clues, and arrested 6 criminal suspects, and seized nearly 20,000 fake cigarettes and 5 tons of cut tobacco. At the beginning of April this year, Beilun Public Security Bureau received an alarm, saying that there were a large number of branded cigarettes exported from Yiwu to Australia in a container at Beilun Port, but the declared names were masks and protective clothing. In order to determine the nature of tobacco, the police commissioned Zhejiang Tobacco Monopoly Bureau to identify these brands of cigarettes.
"After the identification, it was initially determined that the cigarettes were counterfeit cigarettes." Cao Kui, deputy section chief of monopoly supervision and management department of Beilun Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, said.
A total of 148 boxes of tobacco were seized, and 12926 cigarettes were fake trademarks and fake tobacco products. Due to the large quantity, with a total value of about 2.7 million Yuan, the Economic Investigation Brigade of Beilun Public Security Bureau immediately filed a case for investigation.
"We first traced the cigarettes to the two brothers in Yiwu through some processes of logistics traceability and customs clearance. During the in-depth investigation of these two brothers, we found that they were not the manufacturers of these fake cigarettes, but from Fujian Yunxiao. They bought it, and they still have a home." The police handling the case said.
According to the clues obtained in Yiwu, Beilun police went to Yunxiao, Fujian Province, and launched an in-depth investigation in Yunxiao. Through tracing and various technical means, a suspect surnamed Fang entered the police's sight. At this moment, the police investigation found that the two brothers in Yiwu ordered a batch of cigarettes from the suspect surnamed Fang, which arrived one after another in late June and early July. On July 3rd, Beilun police arrested all suspects including drivers in Yiwu and Zhangzhou, Fujian.
"After arresting the suspect, we found 78 boxes of Nanyang Double Happiness on the spot, and found 5 tons of tobacco and 55 boxes of Nanyang Double Happiness in the delivery warehouse of two suspects in Yiwu." The police handling the case told the reporter that at this point, Beilun police seized nearly 300 boxes, 20,000 fake cigarettes and 5 tons of inferior tobacco. "The search was also very surprised because the number of fake cigarettes was indeed relatively large."
It is understood that the number of cases involved in this case is the first time since Beilun District was built. At present, the six suspects involved in the case have been taken compulsory measures, and the case is still under further investigation. (Reporter Wang Jue correspondent Hu Jiaxiao Yu Bifang)
