Ningbo Beilun District People's Hospital (Beilun Branch, No. 1 Hospital Affiliated to Medical College of Zhejiang University), occupying an area of 116mu and a total floor area of around 102347m2, is a Level III, Grade B public hospital. Divided into the east and west sections, it features a planned number of 800 of beds and 38278m2 of green area.
Centering around the objective to "improve satisfaction of the masses and overall quality of the staff, and decrease the proportion of loss of patients", Beilun District People's Hospital carried out the close, managed cooperation with the No. 1 Hospital affiliated to the Medical College of Zhejiang University (hereinafter referred to as No. 1 Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University) to be the first to try medical alliance in China. With concerns of the State Council and full affirmation of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, a hospital alliance mode involving the four levels at township, village, county and province has thus been established.
Boasting advanced medical facilities and beautiful environment, the hospital offered outpatient services to 1.42mln patients, inpatient services to 36,000 patients, and 12,000 cases of surgeries. Currently it's in possession of 1200 employees (with 175 holding senior vocational titles), with 32 subject experts from No. 1 Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University settling down in Beilun. It has established 7 county-leading medical disciplines in Ningbo City and Zhejiang Province. Presiding over 122 subjects at bureau level and above, it owns 104 patents and 31 SCI theses, with one thesis published on the New England Journal of Medicine, a journal of an impact factor of 72 in 2016. Constantly completing its hardware pool, the hospital has introduced a great array of cutting-edge medical equipment, embracing GE HDX1.5T magnetic resonance imaging system, Toshiba Aquilion 16-row spiral CT, Olympus Eu-M2000 ultrasonic endoscope, Siemens flat large C-arm DSA, and Toshiba MDX-8000A multi-function digital gastrointestinal machine.
With its name board officially hung in May 2018, the International Medical Center (Health Management Center) is sited on the fourth floor of the clinic. To facilitate direct payment of commercial insurance customers (including all commercial insurance contracted customers at home and abroad) for medical services of the hospital, the hospital has actively joined hands with international commercial insurance companies. As of the end of 2018, the hospital has established partnership with 11 commercial insurance companies, such as ASSICURAZIONI GENERALI, MSH, Bupa, Ping'an Health, CPIC Allianz, Lanwa, Cigna, Star-e Health, MediLink-Global, Aetna and Cover More, to make available direct settlement for international medical insurance customers. In 2018, there were 587 foreign patients seeking outpatient service and 8 inpatient service in the hospital. 41 customers concluded settlement through international commercial insurances.
Built against high standards, the international medical center was included in the List of First Demonstration Units Offering International Medical Services in Ningbo in July 2019. The center aims to constantly improve its international medical service capabilities and quality, and offer international patients inside and outside the district high-quality medical and health-care services in strict line with requirements specified in Basic Regulations for International Medical Services in Ningbo (Trial).
