Ningbo Binhai International Cooperative School is located in Ningbo Beilun Binhai New Town (Chunxiao Town, Beilun District, Ningbo City), with a total area of 207mu and a total investment of RMB500 million. The School is surrounded by mountains and waters, away from the hustle and bustle. It is constructed with the concept of ecological design featured by low-rise building, large outdoor activity area, and high natural density, also equipped with humanized living community full of elegant atmosphere, providing the students a paradise for their learning, living and personality development.
The school is headed by Mr. Liu Feiyao, a professor-level renowned teacher of the city, a famed educationist of the Yong's school, and the subject of the national excellent principal cultivation program by the Ministry of Education. Upholding the school motto of "Aesthetics, Simplicity, Wisdom and Tenacity", the philosophy to "live a happy, complete educationist life", and the operation idea of "liberal education, intellectual enlightenment and international orientation", the International Department is devoted to presenting a series of international communication platforms that feature "summer programs of American schools, Sino-US school communication, international subject competition, and cultivation of global leadership". Through such efforts, it aims to help students improve their linguistic level and sense the cultural diversity, guide them to respect multi-culture and form an international eyesight, and instill in them the bearing of a resident of a giant power by leading them to highly recognize our nationality and culture and consolidating their patriotism.
The faculty team of the International Department is composed of a core management team, a team of Chinese and foreign teachers, a curriculum design team and a guidance team for further studies. All Chinese and foreign teachers graduate from world-famous universities. Particularly, our foreign teachers feature extensive knowledge and enriched teaching experience, some of which have PhD in linguistics of Kiev University, the master's degree in literature from New York University, and the bachelor's degree in science from University of Wisconsin-Madison. All Chinese teachers graduate from overseas famous universities or domestic 985 and 211 universities, such as The University of Pennsylvania, University of Nottingham, University College London, Zhejiang University, Xiamen University, Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Beijing Language University, and China Academy of Art.
The International Department adopts a curriculum system consisting of the three parts, the regular core curriculum, the AP curriculum and the college curriculum. Among them, the regular core curriculum is optimized to the actual performance of our students based on the authentic coursebooks of US high schools, which adopts the original English coursebooks and curriculum design schemes. AP (Advanced Placement) curriculum is the pre-requisite curriculum for high school students before their admission into universities, as the deepening and expansion of regular core curriculum. As an authorized school to teach AP curriculum by the College Board, we've opened a full option of AP courses. Besides, we've presented the characteristic college curriculum system, which is intended to utterly explore each teacher's talent and each student's interest upon application of the teacher and the student.
The International Department provides free-of-charge guidance for further studies for each student. All members of the further-study guidance team have overseas study experience, who are familiar with overseas universities and the application process. The guidance for further studies includes group counseling and individual guidance. According to the needs of the students, the department provides the admission guidance course for each grade each week, to help students understand the basic processes and necessary preparations for the university application. In addition, after a student is enrolled to our school, a "one-to-one" university application teacher will be arranged to give him/her personalized guidance twice a month, to help the student delve deeper into himself/herself, shape a clear understanding of his/her advantages/disadvantages and interests, and formulate a customized academic plan as soon as possible. Also, the school will dispatch teachers to regularly attend the training on university application as organized by the College Board, and bring back the latest admission information for students and parents.
Since the school was opened, four batches of students have graduated and all of them have been admitted to first-tier universities, such as the top 100 universities in the US, the top 8 in Australia, and the top 10 in Asia. Some of them are enrolled to the Emory University, University of Washington, New York University, Lehigh University, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, Australian National University, University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of California(Irvine), University of Texas at Austin, and Minerva Schools at KGI(global admission rate of merely 1.9%), gaining extensive praise from the society.
